How to Contribute

You came to Buxr, you scored a few bargains, you found some money saving tips and so far you like what you see… Please consider contributing back to the community! There are several ways how you can do it

All the deals you see on the Deals Page were shared by other members. If you stumble upon a bargain, consider submitting it to Buxr for everyone's benefit.

Sharing deals is easy. Make sure you watch the video to see it done live. Basically there are seven steps to submitting a deal. We think it's quick and painless!

1. Basics - Paste the URL of the deal, product, store or coupon and click what kind of deal it is.
2. Tags - Choose what category of product the deal is for so that other users can search for all the best deals on laptops or coffee or craft supplies. All deal tags follow pre-defined hierarchy. Discussion topics re-use the same tags but don't have to follow any particular order.
3. Details - Here you list the title and description and choose a picture or logo.
4. Savings - In this step, you enter the price, savings, expiration, rebates, codes, and all the pertinent information.
5. Compare - Buxr offers a cool tool that stacks your deal up against other stores selling the same product
6. Verify - Everything OK? Submission look good? If not, go back and fix it.
7. Submit - You are done! The entire Buxr community thanks you for sharing!

By voting on deals, you are helping other shoppers know what deals are the best and which ones they should be looking at. Your votes help you win prizes too! The top voted deals are easy to spot because they move up the list on the Buxr home page. The deals with negative votes move down and can disappear entirely if they collect enough negative votes.

If a deal expires or if you notice any other problem with the deal submission, report it to the community by flagging the deal. Buxr moderators routinely check all flags and take an action on each one. Your reports help keep the deals accurate and the website clean. You can flag any deal using the 'problem?' control located on every deal page just under the deal description:

Below are all currently available report types and how they should be used:

• dead deal - the offer was pulled out by the merchant, or the product price increased significantly
• duplicate - the deal has previously been submitted (please provide a link to the deal)
• bad link - clicking on the deal link produces an error, or leads to a different page than what is described in the deal
• inaccurate - some of the information provided with in the deal is inaccurate
• no value - the deal offers no value to the shopper (e.g. the deal is limited to a small geographical area / town)
• alive again - the deal which previously expired is again offered by the merchant
• backordered - the product is not available for immediate delivery
• updated - the offer terms have changed over time and the deal needs to be updated

You can clear your own flag after the problem is resolved, or an admin may clear the flag for you. Use the 'Clear' button on the deal page to clear the problem you earlier reported.

Refer your friends to Buxr if you feel they will like the place. There is an easy way to do it. When you are on a deal page, click on 'Share this Deal' link under the deal description. You will see a box similar to the one below. Fill out your friend's email, modify the message as you see fit and send it by clicking on the 'Submit' button.

Another reason to use that particular link is that if you use it to refer 5 friends during the month, you will be automatically entered into the Refer a Friend Contest.

Buxr is a true community of deal shoppers and bargain hunters like you. Our members contribute not only deals but information and opinion and seek advice. Our discussion pages are filled with ongoing chats about:

• New products and new technologies
• Special promotions that don't quite fit into our deal listings
• Corporate mergers, retail failures, and online launches
• Tips and ideas for using Buxr and for getting great deals
• Opinions about products and stores

To start a discussion, just click on the “New Topic” tab on the discussions page. Choose what category of discussion it is: Product, Coupon, Sale, Store, Buxr or Other (see what each category means here). Then just type in you subject and your comments. You can even paste in URLs into the comments if you need to. Finally (on all but the last two categories) add tags like you do in deal submission.
