Online Coupons

Online coupon is a coupon code or a specially formatted URL that allows you to obtain a product discount online. In case of a coupon code, the store will have a special entry box during checkout where you need to enter the code to receive the discount. Different stores have it in a different place and under a different label, and some will just have a link that you need to click to open the box. Here are a couple examples of how the entry box may look.

Almost always online coupons come with an expiration date and fine print that spells out the coupon restrictions.

Printable Coupons

Printable coupons are manufacturer and store coupons that you can print off of the web and use in-store.

Some sites require you to load software on to your PC that will allow you to print coupons. This software allows the issuer to enforce the restriction on the number of times the coupon can be printed.

Most printable coupons can be printed twice (per computer) by either hitting “back” and “refresh” after printing the first one, or by returning to the initial page where you found your coupon and printing it again.

Where to find them

There are coupon services that exist solely to provide printable coupons. Several manufacturers also post printable coupons on their websites. Here are a few (legitimate) website whoes printable coupons you can often find on Buxr:

Double coupons

Double coupons mean double the savings. E.g, if you have coupons for fifty cents off your favorite BBQ sauce, you will save up to one dollar on each bottle. Some grocery stores offer double coupons on a certain day of the week or month. Usually, this is done to draw more customers on a day that is regularly slower than the others.

Spotting fake coupons

Coupon use is on the rise and so is coupon fraud. An increase in fake coupons can cause retailers to stop accepting Internet-printed coupons so it is in your interest to fight the fraud. Use this list of tips to avoid fraudulent coupons and the embarrassment at the checkout that they can cause.

E-Coupons

An E-Coupon is an electronic coupon that you can load onto your loyalty card or a mobile phone and use in-store just like you would use a printable coupon.
