Yikes! More snow!?! Do pigs fly in the South? (Well, besides swine flu...)

submitted on February 23, 2010 by HouTex in "Member's Lounge"
Before this winter, I had only seen snow 3 times in my whole life. But today makes the 3rd time this season that we are having snow here! Real snow is something that the locals say would happen here "only if pigs fly." So I guess they do....
Maybe the spring wildflowers will be better than usual.

Wish I could take credit, but it's not one of my photos. (The ones I took are without the snow.)
The wildflowers are gorgeous here in April and, although we have them here too, we only have to drive north an hour to see the most spectacular bluebonnets in Brenham and Chappel Hill.

I do realize that other people have a lot more snow than we do (5 inches in VT since noon today!), but we've lived a sheltered life down here without too much cold!

Your snow is coming to my area. I watched news tonight, the snow from your area is going to Florida panhandle. It's true HouTex, this year's winter is something.
On last February 10th, there were more 25 inches of snow in front of my house. Until today, front of my house still covered by snow. It was record since 1800 something.
Wednesday night through thursday afternoon we will get 1 to 3 inches of additional snow.
Never ask and wish for snow again...no more Sad

I'm really sick of the snow living here in Indy. I miss the days when I lived down south and only had to worry about dreadful winters only about once a decade or so. And you would think that people around here would be better able to drive in the snow, but they really suck at it. Big Grin

Yes, but now the sun came out, the temperature ran up to 50 degrees, and it's all gone!
