Wii to offer Netflix streaming movies

submitted on January 13, 2010 by equipurple in "Products / Gadgets"
Beginning in the spring, the Wii will become the last of the three current video game consoles to get instant viewing of Netflix movies and TV shows over the Internet.
Wii owners who have a broadband connection and a Netflix subscription that costs at least $9 a month will be able to watch those programs with no extra charge.

Very much doubt I will watch Netflix on the Wii as I have an Xbox360 but its not a bad backup in case wife wanted to while I was playing a game or god forbid RROD again...

How is the netflix quality on PS3? Would the resolution of a streamed movie on PS3 be better quality when compared to a Wii?

I would have to think so, the Wiis top resolution is 480p while the Xbox and Playstation is 1080p. I believe Netflix offers 720p. So you will be loosing about half the resolution using a Wii.

Wii is too slow for HD. This article says Nintendo will offer SD for now and is planning to release HD version of the console next year

Nice...good alternative to hooking up my laptop that suddenly won't connect to the wireless internet.
