why buxr reduced the number of daily awards?

submitted on April 21, 2015 by edithem in "Buxr Website / Contests"
I have noticed that with time the buxr reduced the numbers of daily awards from 4/5 to 1/2. I believe that this causes reduction in overall "performance" among members.
What do you think?

Here is a relevant discussion, and an answer (still relevant):

I will elaborate more once I get home from work.

I personally believe that deals should be set to a lower limit, Perhaps 10 a day would be better. Just my opinion and would love to hear other thoughts. We all vote for particular members but when one member posts 20 deals a day and the same loyal members vote for all the deals the same person or people come in first monthly it gets old. Please don't chastise me for this. It is an opinion.

I would suggest that more people post more deals, share more deals, and invite more friends to join Buxr so that more visitors to the site would have more to see and perhaps shop the sites. And more votes from more people would eventually work out correctly. I believe less of anything serves no useful purpose. Just my personal opinion.

I am absolutely there with HouTex. If we have more deals we will have more people come to shop and more activity. This translates to more prizes Wink

On the other hand, I would like Buxr-ites to help me spread the word around about our amazing site. If we get on blogs or twitter we can increase the traffic to the point where it becomes profitable again and this again translates to more prizes and giveaways

Those good ole times... I remember we were holding spontaneous $50 giveaways here and there. Sad Sob. Sob. Cry

I believe that most members still vote for particular person not a deal. Some of those deals with most votes don't even have much of an interest when comes to popularity and those get rewarded...for (?)

Unfortunately only the network admin can make changes.

i am with houtex and edithem on this. i have been trying to post a lot of deals daily. i also try to post a variety of deals AND try to throw in a new merchant to buxr.
i have hit the 20 mark or close to it a number of times this past month or so and still dont get a ton of votes on my deals. the same larger number of votes go generally to the same buxrites and the same stores. in other words, just because i may post a lot of deals doesnt mean i am getting the votes OR a good position/top in the monthly contest.
reducing the number of deals to 10 a day would be a big mistake.
i honestly would love to eventually see an award (maybe $5) for the top vote getter overall without necessarily having it tied to the top 1 or 2 or 3.....a completely separate award each day if there is a lot of activity.
i have also noticed more voting and deals posted early in the morning. i dont post a whole lot then, but mine tend to go up for evening and late evening. they tend to NOT get a lot of votes generally. i think people just vote more for the early morning deals and not really look at the other ones.

The less votes that are cast, the more a handful of members can control the contest outcome. Having lots more voting members will put a stop to that and make the community a lot more fun, especially when they interact with one another more in the discussions.
