I am not sure I totally understand the topic dealhunter11 but you have made $4100 from posting deals on buxr.

I think buxr is more for quality deals not quantity of deals Big Grin
And here winning deals are choosen by members only except admins choice (which is rarely).
If we have 100s of members, we get 1000s of deals and some we be rubbish...

I agree with you too, Bemicmom. This is one of the many places I stop to get coupons before grocery shopping. I pull up coupons all the time from Buxr on my iPhone for use at retail stores. I LOVE this site. Not only do we all save money, we make money too.

Love the topic because I like to see what others are thinking about this site. I was shocked when I first signed up and won $10. I remember telling my neighbor that I won and I may never get the money because I had to win at least $25 to withdraw. 6 months later and over $400 richer, this site it great. Invest some time in posting and searching and it is all free money - you cannot love that! On top of that, I am amazed at the coupons/deals posted. I thought I was good about finding good deals and over and over again my posts are trumped. It is amazing what is out there.

My friends decided not to go with buxr because they say it shows too much favoritism & negativity on particular members. Maybe if the members name did not appear at the time of deal, more quality votes would be spread around to everybody.

I've seen similar topics many times here on Buxr and as long as it is set up as a game and prizes are involved you will have a handful who try to game it, has nothing to do with names and who a person is -- it has to do with playing a game, just like board games some are better at the strategy and moves. We all have the ability to make sure it's not that way by not playing it as a game. With such a small community we have the power with our votes and actions to make it fair and to eliminate any so called favoritism.

I agree with couponut. Looks good if admin disables the members name on the deal page.

I like this idea too but even after hiding the names from the deal, people will still find a way to comment on their own deals and it is not difficult to make out whose comment it is after a while..especially for long timers Wink I doubt there is a foolproof way to ensure deals are voted anonymously without disabling the comments too!

It is often possible to figure out who submits the deal even w/o the comments. Some members prefer certain stores, others have certain style of describing the deal, yet others make the same spelling mistakes.

I am with sandyshore on this one. We should not try to figure out how to change the site, we should instead look at ourselves. It is all in your power to make it fair. Vote up the deals you like. It's as simple as that.

    I agree with "CouponNut"..
on buxr.com most of deals get votes by "Give Vote, Take Vote"concept.. I don't know how many users really seeing the deal/coupon and voting..
I know how many my and other user GOOD deals/coupons didn't get the votes properly..

Another suggestion would be you can't vote unless you open up the deal link!

I'm relatively new to Buxr, but I also feel there is nepotism. After leaving some constructive feedback (which may be perceived as "negative") on a specific Starbucks deal, I noticed I no longer get as many votes as I once did -- as though I'm being punished for not being part of the "inner circle." It makes me less likely to post deals, to be honest. In addition, I often see deals that are "okay"", but they always seem to rise to the top. It just doesn't make sense other than some sort of "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours."

One more reason why I like Buxr is, most of our deals comes with some expiry so it'll be easy to when and where to shop on your free time
