Who was hit in with the Bizzard of '11?

submitted on February 2, 2011 by webbyone2010 in "Member's Lounge"
In Chicago, we called it Snowmageddon-- 21 inches of snow. Did anyone else get hit?

It took me 2 hours to clear half of my driveway. Then came a Santa Clause (my neighbor) with a snow plow truck and cleaned the rest in 5 minutes. Smile

Is that a record snowfall? And the high winds are making the wind chill temperature even lower. Makes me cold just thinking about it! Punxsutawney Phil (the groundhog) predicted an early spring because he didn't see his shadow today, probably because it was snowing. I think he's missed it again this year. The Houston Longhorn saw a shadow and predicts 6 more weeks of winter. That I believe, so much for global warming...

Some guy in Northern New York built a record 35-foot snowman - with three black car tires for buttons, an orange and white traffic cone for a nose and part of an old pool for a top hat.

Does anybody have snow pictures of their own to post?

If you could snag a picture of that it would be cool.

I went out and found it. It was not actually that hard to locate.

I've been in worse, but then again I used to live in Maine, so its not a fair comparison.

Here, I just took this outside my house. The walk path to the right goes to the front door. Note how high the snow is around it! The little black dots at the base are accent lights Smile

We didn't get snow, we had ice lots of ice! Thankfully that changed to rain shortly before really low temps and wind chills returned.

We are so comfortable down here, temperature is around mid 70's.
Personally I haven't seen snow since 2003 and have missed it so much.

NYC is still recovering from the record breaking month of Jan.. I am sick and tired from all the snow, ice, sleet, cold and rain that we see here on a daily basis..
