Where Americans moved in 2008 (Interactive Map)

Just stumbled upon a cool interactive map that shows where US population moved in 2008 based on data from IRS tax filings.

More than 10 million Americans moved from one county to another during 2008. The map below visualizes those moves. Click on any county to see comings and goings: black lines indicate net inward movement, red lines net outward movement.

    Your image is not much... click on Wayne Co. (Detroit) Michigan, it looks like a murder scene with all that red!

    It looks like a lot of people migrated to Texas and Florida where climate is warmer and land cheaper. Look at Austin area (below), it is a complete opposite of Detroit
