What to do with a deal that has no url

submitted on February 6, 2009 by bsee123 in "Products / Gadgets"
Are we allowed to post "in-store only" deals? I recently came across a printer sold only at the staples store and not listed on their website. Because we are supposed to submit a url, and I didn't have one available, I was unsure of what to do.

What is the recommended option?

I would post them here. You can of course submit an instore-only deal, and note it that way linking to the merchant's homepage.

I would argue against doing that (linking to the merchant's home page). If a visitor comes to Buxr and wants to take advantage of your printer deal, given the current deal page layout it would be very confusing to click on the printer product link and find yourself on the merchant front page. Whatever you link has to provide more details about the product (an example could be a page from the weekly store circular). If you can't come up with anything then just post it here.

The deals section is for shopping and we try to offer our visitors the best shopping experience. News stories and rumors should go to our discussion board.

      Right. Forgot about circulars!
