Walmart Website Has Deceptive "Made in USA" Claims (Take a Poll)

submitted on June 30, 2015 by HouTex in "Stores / Merchants"
According to this post on the Truth in Advertising site at https://www.truthinadvertising.....sa-claims/ , many items on Walmart.com website incorrectly state that they are "Made in the USA" when the packaging says otherwise. This is pretty disappointing, especially since the retailer makes a big deal of pledging to buy an extra $250 billion in American products and seeking out U.S.-made products to sell.
TINA.org’s investigation into the retail giant’s website readily uncovered more than 100 instances of false and deceptive made in the USA representations. The investigation revealed products labeled “Made in the USA” though packaging indicated they were “Made in China.” TINA.org also found USA product labels on Walmart.com that were in direct conflict with the site’s own specification information on the same webpage.

I've seen many items in Walmart stores that have the label "Made in the USA". I tend to try to purchase items made in the US when I can... otherwise I buy what they have.

I doubt very much this is the company policy, or anyone high up is directing clerks to do it. Probably some error, or some folks not doing due diligence with labeling.
