Wake Up & Smell the Bacon? Or Just Hear the Sizzle - Free Alarm App for iPhone Users (Poll)

Oscar Mayer has reportedly developed a ‘wake up and smell the bacon’ app for iPhones. But the accompanying scent-producing device is not for sale, only a limited number with a refill of smoky bacon perfume are available to win.

The scented part must be another of their bacon jokes, but it's true that you can already download the app for free from
The app also includes witty "baconisms" that can be enabled.

The clever interface allows the user to set the alarm by turning the frying pan. when the alarm goes off, you get the sound of sizzling bacon and an image of the bacon cooking. They claim you can try to win a limited-edition plug-in dongle that creates the smell by visiting

You can enter often through April 4, 2014, although I'm not sure anyone will actually win any of them. Amused
If you could win one, the dongle plugs into the iPhone's headphone jack and, when paired with the iOS app, releases the smell of bacon as the alarm sounds.

      Ah, yes! My favorite memories of staying in a quaint bed and breakfast was being awakened by the wonderful smell of fresh-brewed coffee from downstairs!

      Maybe a candle can recreate it until we go back there -
