TJX Bought Sierra Trading Post

submitted on July 23, 2014 by HouTex in "Stores / Merchants"
Not sure how I missed this, but the parent company of T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods has expanded their online business with the purchase of discount retailer Sierra Trading Post.
Sierra Trading Post, based in Cheyenne, Wyo., is a privately held company that sells clothing, shoes and other goods, primarily online. Its products tend to cater toward the outdoor lifestyle of the western U.S. It has annual revenue of roughly $200 million. The deal includes its main office, fulfillment center, photography studios, customer call centers and four outlet stores.

Since Sierra Trading Post sells off-price outdoor gear, it fits well into their existing family of retailers selling off-price apparel and home goods. TJX Companies are the largest off-price retail company in the world, and the only off-price retailer in Europe.

Hmm, that could explain the email I got from TJMaxx for a discount at Sierra Trading Post!
