Three Amusing and Cheap Last Minute Costume Ideas

submitted on October 28, 2009 by Solstice in "Member's Lounge"
Did you wait until the last minute?

Are you incredibly short on cash?

Does the costume store only have clown or Santa costumes left in stock?

Instead of using the fallback of making a ghost out of an old sheet, I reveal to you my three secret instant costumes that have saved me in the past.

They are still clever, cost almost nothing, and still get giggles.

The Hologram (In Honor of Red Dwarf the TV Show)

All you need is some red or black face paint to make an "H" on your forehead, and your'e good to go!

The Prisoner Button (In Honor of The Prisoner the TV Show)

You can just print out this one and put it on a cardboard backing, or take the extra time to make one yourself and be #2 from the series. (The character #2 had a different actor almost every single episode, so this works on two levels.)

Salvador Dali (The Famous Painter)

All you need here is some black face paint, or preferably a really long fake mustache, and bang-zoom, you're an instant celebrity.

You don't always have to spend lots of cash to have a good costume, you just have to be clever.

You all might like what I'm wearing as a costume for a party this Halloween, depending on the depth of humor your willing to sink to. Additionally, once again it was cheap and clever, or at least I thought so.

    Here are the components...

    1. Pair of large dark sunglasses.
    2. Pair of cargo shorts.
    3. One button-up shirt of simple design.
    4. Two Gallons of blue kool-aid to give out.
    5. One name tag with the the person's name printed on it.

Can you guess who I am?

Wait for it... (Don't scroll down if you want a chance to guess first.)

    Bumping for relevance.

Also, I'll try to remember to post pictures for my cheap-but-clever costumes this year.
