There is a Difference between Commenting and Trolling! Permalink

I don't care if this gets me in hot water. There is a difference between commenting and trolling. I enjoyed these message boards for a long time, not much anymore! It's sad and disturbing to see what is happening in the last few hours on the board.

So remove this if you must and smack my fingers or block me, I just can't NOT say anything today.

    I comment on what's worth commenting on! I try to offer good discussions or helpful sites! I choose to pick the topics that interest me and what I have to say. I hope that helps with your discussion sandyshore.

      That's what most of us do clover. I'm not objecting to commenting, adding information, and sharing ideas. I know I was kind of vague that was to say what I wanted without it being considered an attack. I really like all the posters here, it's just the method of moving all the newer posts off the front of the board for an agenda that upset me.

      I agree. I did notice that happening this afternoon. I saw a few posts and the very next minute they were all gone and a bunch of new ones were there. It was moving really fast.

    Sandy, please use the feedback system to provide links to the comments/topics you are referring to as falling under the realm of "trolling". I'm unable to locate what you are talking about, but commenting in the discussion topic has been heavy today, so there is a lot to sift though.

      In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

      In this case the comments were off topic.

    If this bothered me, I would personally down-vote any comment I consider trolling. This way I can so to say "put my money where my mouth is" and give more weight to my claims.

      voting down someone triggers negative reactions from that user. Leads to an uncomfortable situation since members are easily identifiable and end up being singled out. If there were a lot of people voting down, then it;s a different scenario. But here it's only a few.

      I'll down vote, if I see the same situation again. At this point, I don't care about the points or the best deal awards. I come here for the bargains, I realize that I'm the probably an exception in this case and that's why I said something that most are thinking. All I can say is I hope that if I do as advised that I won't be left to deal with the retaliation alone.

      I am sure you will get support if your claims have a merit.

      Here is a tip - down-vote and leave a short reply explaining why you did it (stating that you think it is trolling and explaining why). This way you not only explain your actions to the member, but also give an opportunity to those who support you to up-vote your reply (and neutralize the possible negative effect of retaliation).
