Hot or Not?

A ticker display of the top 5/10 deals ?

and

another one which are hot deals ( getting lots of views ) ?

Resembling something like the ticker display on the NASDAQ building. One in Green , one in Yellow. Scrolling through on all pages.

It just seems like the top deals get lost. I did not even know that the "CORSAIR 16GB Flash Survivor Ultra Rugged USB 2.0 Drive Model" was a top pick. No one commented on it so it never was bumped to the front and hence LOST. Home page is nice but too much going on there. I just don't want to scroll page after page to find out what is good.

Just seems more fun.

Not sure why the home page doesn't work for you, Orange. This is exactly the place to find the hot deals. The deals page is for discussion around deals since it doesn't sort by vote or popularity and updates too frequently. Home page does these things and more.

Honestly -> It's functional but it's boring. Too much going on. It's just an opinion. I just thought of this idea and never seen it implemented at a deal site. Other sites have something similar but it needs to be refreshed. A ticker display would scroll through and refresh itself. Probably more useful in the future.

Oh, I now see what you mean. An actual ticker screen that refreshes itself... This would be neat. My only concern is that it may add stress to the server.

Yes, but it would only be scrolling 5-10 items ( top deals )

in a loop . Maybe you can refresh that list once every 5/10 minutes.

I do like the home page for that purpose, but I also like for example, the right side margin on SD, sort of like what OA is referring to.

I like the idea. If implemented, it would also show Buxr as progressing. While functional is nice, interesting and exciting is great, too. Kinda like wired deals Yan, where it updates. Just not that many at a time
