The format for submitting social deals

submitted on January 28, 2011 by equipurple in "Buxr Website / Contests"
I came across a few deals that are from social deal sites (ie groupon, lvingsocial, coupme, buywithme, buyzooka, etc.) I think it useless to have their logo as the deal logo. The image presented should be for the item or vendor whose item is purchased.

For example: http://www.buxr.com/deal/25-vo.....or-8_75435 is a DealPulp deal to make a purchase from letsgogreen.biz. Letsgogreen should be the item image as well as the title. I don't know what dealplum is, and would have looked at the deal more closely with a letsgogreen logo.

Same for http://www.buxr.com/deal/10-fo.....cial_75401 It needs a VistaPrint logo, not a livingsocial logo.

Are we best served with a standard format for social deal titles, such as include the social network in parentheses at the end of the deal?

You might be getting old and grumpy but you make a great point Mr Green

I would think it should state the name of the product, have the product logo and as you suggested, the name of the social networking providing the deal in parenthesis.

I agree that it is better to have the product image instead of the deal site logo. This way you have a better idea what it is just by glancing at the deal.

Having the deal site name in parenthesis is OK too, but I would stick with our usual format for the sale, e.g.:

Living Social - $10 For a $50 Gift Certifcate to Vistaprint
    or
    DealPlum - $25 Voucher to LetsGoGreen.biz for $8
