Stores That WON'T Be Open On Thanksgiving

submitted on October 26, 2014 by mdshopper1 in "Stores / Merchants"
I know that we are all great shoppers and especially great bargain hunters....online and in-store. There are some retailers that are now refusing to open on Thanksgiving and not following the trend of other retailers. I just read an article that listed major retailers REI, Dillard's, American Girl, and Burlington. Do you know of any other retailers that are NOT opening on Thanksgiving day? It seems to me that now almost all stores are open on Thanksgiving day, some starting to open even earlier this year.

"The stores that decide to stay closed and give their employees the holiday may find they end up rewarded. Last year, half of consumers said they disapproved of the early hours and the vast majority didn’t plan to shop on Thanksgiving anyway."

1. How do you feel about shopping in stores on Thanksgiving?
I enjoy it and like the chance to get out of the house after I have had my Thanksgiving feast.
I don't think that retail stores should be open on Thanksgiving day. It should be about being thankful and sharing family and friends.
It doesn't bother me one way or another if stores choose to be open on Thanksgiving day.

I like to shop, but if I can't do it online on Thanksgiving, I can wait until Black Friday. My kids on the other hand, love to go out, just to say they did. They would not dare shop the other 363 days of the year the stores are open. Exclaim

You should go to Europe, e.g. Germany, and check out when stores are generally open over there. You are in for a surprise.

I love Black Friday and have enjoyed shopping on Thanksgiving, but this year I will be in front of the tv! Philadelphia is going to ruin Thanksgiving for Dallas!

Costco always gives importance to their employees. I like the store and always best at service.
