Sprint officially opposes AT&T's proposed acquisition of T-Mobile

submitted on March 28, 2011 by laaya in "Member's Lounge"
Because of AT&T acquisition which may "reduce competition and harm consumers". For this as expected, Sprint is officially opposing AT&T's proposed acquisition of T-Mobile USA .

"also stated that this company would become three times the size of Sprint in terms of wireless revenue, and that it and Verizon would "overwhelmingly dominate" the US wireless industry and have "unprecedented control" over the post-paid market.

I moved from Sprint to Verizon after 11 yrs. of service because Sprint customer service went downhill and would no longer give me long term customer 10% discount. Personally I oppose Sprint making wasted headlines against the acquistion. Maybe Sprint should consider expanding service rather than taking a backseat to all this.

I added my parents to my plan so they would have a cell phone when they travel. I get the 10% discount through the Credit Union. I have never had a problem with Sprint.

Sprint customer service has been fantastic the past year. They recently won the Customer Service Champion Award from J.D. Power.

The idea to oppose the deal is monopoly of GSM networks as there is no other player in the GSM Market. Customers will have even poorer options that what they get with ATT now. one example is their controlling of Android phones. They don't let you sideload app - the reason they give is > TO protect customers. It's all BS> All they want to do is promote their crappy apps like Navigator and other so that they can squeeze more money out of customers. ATT is nothing but an arrogant company. The past 5 years they had the Iphone - so they did not give a s*** about their customers (did anyone see any improvement in their service in those 5 years?). Once they have T-mobile under them - they are going to do the same.
