I read about this yesterday... Sony addressed a bunch of questions on their website. REALLY BAD for Sony and it's users/customers.

Apparently this is large. It affected thousands of people. Sony is warning people to ignore any emails/phone calls requesting information such as credit card numbers etc. cause they are not going to request any info from anyone so if anyone gets this type of contact do not give it to them and ignore/hang up.

That is really an inconvenience especially if it is an ATM card. You have to be careful of everything that you put out there! Sorry Lootango! Neutral

Has anyone with a PlayStation received an email from them? I wonder if Sony offers any support...

I heard Sony got a lot of heat for the delay disclosing the problem

I heard on the radio that some guy is starting a class action suit against Sony for not properly securing people's private information.

Here's more info about the lawsuit - http://online.wsj.com/article/.....lenews_wsj

Analysts have previously estimated that the incident could cost Sony more than $1.5 billion. Now (from http://www.reuters.com/article.....6820110428 ) the amount facing credit card lenders could be more than $300 million in card replacement costs if customers affected by the Sony Corp data breach decide to replace their credit cards. (That's $3-$5 per card.)

From the original article cited above - Eeek Eeek Eeek
An unauthorized person stole names, addresses and possibly credit card data belonging to 77 million account holders on Sony's PlayStation Network in what could be one of the largest-ever Internet security breaches.

I have a Sony Style credit card but I have not used it for a very long time. I think I will close it just as a precaution

Well the SonyNetwork has supposedly been hacked again.

BOSTON/NEW YORK (Reuters) – Hackers broke into Sony Corp's computer networks and accessed the information of more than 1 million customers to show the vulnerability of the electronic giant's systems, the latest of several security breaches undermining confidence in the company.
