Some money making websites anyone?

submitted on August 26, 2010 by outcastplo313 in "Member's Lounge", last updated on August 31, 2010 by YanBz
Update 8/30/10: For the current version of the money making websites list please go to this wiki page: http://www.buxr.com/wiki/money_making_sites

I just found out about this website - http://www.epinions.com/. I was wondering if anyone had tried it out. Its supposed to pay you for writing reviews or giving your opinion of products you may have tried or stores you have shopped at. Now it doesn't pay as well as Buxr of course (nothing compares!), but I've been looking for some money money paying websites. So please let me know if you have tried this website or if you know any others that pay.

I know that some Buxr members came from RetailMeNot which seems to have an incentive program. I couldn't find any details about it though.

The only thing I can find about it is:

"You earn a point every time another user votes 'yes' for a coupon you've shared.Community members are ranked on the total points they've earned and can win great prizes and giveaways. To earn points, simply find and share coupons with the community. Number of points are calculated hourly.
100+ point members now get a Power Up badge that unlocks additional tools/features."

I can't find anything about pay or what the incentive would be.

Actually, RMN gives out random prizes every once in awhile to top contributors, like gift cards to Amazon, Threadless, etc.

Try www.viewpoints.com. They run regular promotions about gifts cards in exchange for writing reviews about products that you use everyday. It's a reputed website with good reviews. Currently they are running promotion for $10 Amazon GC for writing 10 reviews. Check it out!

mturk.com (run by Amazon) is nice and easy, but not as good as it used to be. But its a decent place to make a dollar or two in your spare time.

www.instantcashsweepstakes.com/ works if you are looking to just "win" money. You answer quick questions for the chance at small cash prizes, and tickets. You spend the tickets for chances to win larger weekly and monthly prizes. I've won the $50 weekly drawing twice in the past, and made likely $20 or so off the small money they give away for answering questions sometimes. Additionally you can refer people and get the same prize they win including the big prize if they win. The more consistant you are with your answers you move up in levels, which gives you multipliers, more questions, and bonus tickets with each answered survey.

There is a site were you get paid (pennies) to determine the emotional context of words. However I can not for the life of me remember its website. I signed up but found the work to boring and never did it again.

mypoints.com does not pay you in money, but they can in gift cards. You get points by getting their emails, answering surveys, purchasing items through their site and so on. I've been a member for about 7 years now.

You can write for e-how. Simple, how to articles. They claim $15-20/hr.

Demand Studios also hires writers/copy editors, etc. for other assignments, as well.

I've used epinions but you can't cash out til $10 and it takes forever to get there. I use mysurveys.com which gives points for surveys you can redeem for prizes (not many for each survey). dollarsurverys.net pays $1 for each survey you do and deposits it to your paypal account every so often. They say weekly but it's more like every 2 weeks. I use a few others but I can't remember the names right now. I'll try to let you know when I can.

Have used Inboxdollars.com before and it pays out when you reach $30 (with a fee tacked on, of course), and it can take a while to get to that amount. You are awarded (very little) for reading paid emails and you can also earn money by completing special offers (e.g. signing up for Netflix through their site, etc.).

Don't forget Swagbucks. It's not a lot of $$, but if you don't mind searching through them, you can earn $5 Paypal payments or Amazon gift cards (and lots of other choices). You can set your search preferences and forget about it, and the points just add up. Your points accumulate faster if you get referrals. The list of results is not the same as with other search engines, so it's a bit of a trade-off. You can also check their blog or swag code widget for extra codes worth extra points.

From what I've read, Pinecone Research is considered one of the better ones. They used to pay by check only and have added Paypal. Unfortunately, there's no open enrollment for them. It seems that the only way to join is by referral or if a banner ad appears in one of your searches (which means you fit into their demographics). So if you're lucky enough to see the banner, be sure to click and check it out!

https://www.pineconeresearch.c....._Form.aspx still opens to a form for me, looks like it's still available for now.
But since posting this, I've read other information that indicates the age range is for 18-24.

Pinecone Research has different age groups at different times. You just have to keep your eyes open. I love them, been with them for 2+ years and every simple survey, $3. No qualifying, etc. Either check or paypal.
