Site request (ability to roll back votes)

submitted on January 25, 2010 by WhattaDealBlog in "Buxr Website / Contests"
Unlikely, but I'll ask anyways...

Much like we have the option to edit our posts, or our deals. Is there anyway that would could edit our votes? I would suggest a very small amount of time in which to do so. As it seems if you really did do it 100% on accident you would notice it pretty quickly.

Or if that is not feasible how about an award like the highlight, vote up, or contest off which would allow us to do so, at a cost.

We've asked about this before and I'm not sure why we haven't seen this feature as of yet. I'm sure the Buxr support team have the skills to put this in place.

I would appreciate such a thing as my small touchscreen PC calibration sometimes gets a little off and can cause me to vote incorrectly so I try not to use it when I'm on Buxr, but would really like to.

Yes its rare that I place an incorrect vote with my mouse, but it does happen. However I've done it a fair amount of times while using my iPod Touch unless I make the site (and button) huge while using it.

Maybe spacing the two arrows a bit more would help. An example would be putting the actual vote count in between the up and down arrows with the arrows being above and below the number.

I've thought of that as well. But it sorta would make the up down aspect look "weird" in my opinion if they are on opposing sides. Maybe switching to a + or - on either side, but then that changes the basis of the sites current up down...

I think allowing something like 1 minute to change your vote would be a better idea as it wouldn't change any look of the current site, which could be a big deal as moving one thing would require moving others and so on.

Me too! There's been a few times that I will be interrupted by a kiddo when I'm about to vote and accidentally click the wrong deal. Or I think it looks like a good deal but after re-reading it, I realize I just misread.

I don't see it as a big deal. There are mistakes made (and I have made my share), but it takes a bunch of mistakes on the same deal to have any impact on the deal or a contest. I am a desktop and laptop user, so suffer no technological issues with screen size, so I can't comment there.

Thanks for reminding me about this. I will see what can be done (if it was an easy fix I would have done it long time ago).

Everything is "easy" for Yan, or have we been misled? LOL
