Sign the Petition : Say no to Bank of America $5 fees

Time for us to stand up. They taken a lot of our money and now they want more.

Molly Katchpole launched a petition against Bank of America, which was signed by more than 131,000 customers and counting, saying she would take her business elsewhere unless the company drops its plan to charge $5 for debit card purchases. She wants her message to ring loud and clear, especially to other banks.

Citibank, PNC and US Bancorp have said that they would not increase fees even if BOA goes ahead with this.

They'll get you anyway - Citibank has already announced new fees up to $20 for checking accounts starting in December if the balance falls below several thousand dollars. http://www.ibtimes.com/article.....t-card.htm

Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, SunTrust Banks, and Regions Financial have also introduced new fees in recent weeks.

Yeah, that's true. Maybe they will not participate in this program since it's already getting a lot of negative publicity but they will slip in some fees here and there.

Yep, I got a letter from Citibank last week saying they are introducing a monthly fee to my EZ Checking account. I went to the branch today and downgraded to the basic checking, the simpliest type of account they have (which is still free).

The fees will happen in one form or another. It's not going to matter who you bank with you'll have to compare what works best for your banking needs to know what's the best bank for you in the fee area.

I wish I could just say "NO" to BOA but they got my mortgage from Countrywide an "equally" crooked company and I don't make enough to refinance to get rid of them! Join a Credit Union my friends!!!

I just say no to BoA and will never have an account with them, ever. However, I will sign the petition anyway to keep them from trying to rip others off. Will never have a PNC account either. I am really disappointed with PNC ever since they took over National City Bank.

Wouldn't moving your money be better than signing a petition. I bank at USAA, it is a fantastic bank and they don't charge a fee to use a debit card.

Anyone can bank at USAA bank, the insurance is limited to the military and certain others like FBI agents, and the president.

BOA should make their debit card free of fees to this twice honorably discharged veteran needing direct deposit for social security. Let me give you powerful ammo. When you use a BOA debit card at ATM in Italy, you work through Banca Nationale del Lavoro (National Bank of Labor): the same that laundered money for the Bush family stealing in the savings and loan debacle.
