Ship your luggage door-to-door for $25 when flying United Airlines

submitted on March 18, 2010 by MrCheap in "Sales / Promotions"
Send your luggage ahead instead of lugging it around. Choose Door-to-Door Baggage, United's overnight baggage shipment and delivery service available within the continental U.S.

How it works:

1. Schedule your shipment.
2. Print your shipping labels instantly
3. FedEx will pick up your baggage from your home or office. (Or you can drop off your baggage at any FedEx authorized shipping center.)
4. Receive your baggage at your desired destination the next day.

The Door-to-Door Baggage option is available for customers traveling on United Airlines flights within the 48 contiguous United States. This option becomes available 10 days prior to the associated flight departure date.

Great option and appears to be fair rules as well. I had 2 main questions what is max weight? And it's 50lbs which is fair. And what if the flight is cancelled? And if they do not find you a suitable flight to get there and you end up not going then they return the luggage next day as well no charge and refund your original fee.

Sale prices are for one-way travel per bag and are available until 5:00 p.m. EDT on March 19, 2010 only, while supplies last.

The maximum allowable weight is 50 pounds per bag. Each bag being shipped must also be less than 119 inches in length or less than 165 inches in both length and girth. Length is defined by the longest side of the bag. Girth is equal to (2 x width) + (2 x height). United reserves the right to assess additional fees and/or refuse shipment for bags that exceed the above weight and size restrictions. FedEx may refuse shipment at the point of pickup or drop-off if a bag exceeds the allowable weight and size limitations.
