Share Your Latest Shopping Success Story!!

submitted on August 5, 2010 by deby32953 in "Member's Lounge"
Elefanteau gave me this idea when sharing her superduper shopping/couponing exploits at Target, etc. I have 1 I'd like to share. Just for having a Gap Visa, which I had $14 credit, they sent me 2 Reward cards for $10 & $20. Old Navy had their jean's sale & I'd already chosen a pair of Gap boyfriend capris that were $79, now $14.99. I snagged a pair of O.N. sale jeans for $24.99. I used my "secret code" to take 20% off the jeans bringing them down to $21.99 & code TUESDAYS (it was Tues. & I was using Gap Visa) to take 10% off Gap capris making them $13.59. Total was $35.48-$30.00 reward = $5.48 (for which I had credit) but wait, there's more...I went through Ebates who gave 10% cash back! Ship was $7 but I'll get that reimbursed through ship club (which will be my next d.t.) I scored 2 sweet pair of denims for less than 2 bucks! Let's hear your shopping success story. Share your's & we might all learn something!

I gotta another good 1 for ya! I just bought 2 pairs of capris, 2 camis & a Smocked Knit Chemise (nightgown) for $16.35 + $1.01 in tax & free shipping to my nearby Fashion Bug store. Amazingly the code for $10 off $25 that's not supposed to expire until Dec. wouldn't work, but the supposedly expired code of 77624236 (I think, I reported the anomoly to BUXR) did saving me $10 buckaroos! I stupidly bought the $2.99 cami 2x but I will have them take it off my order when hubby picks up & of course I had credit on my Fashion Bug c.c. for not picking up clothes that became too big for me. The capris cost $7.49 & $7.79, the chemise was $5.09. Oh, & I got 3% back from Shopathome.com making the purchase actually cost $15.86! Now THAT'S a deal! I have to shop, have no deal credits left...

I try hard. And do I need clothes? Nope! Usually hang around (literally) in a tee shirt & undies (whoo hoo) & seldom go out 'cause it's too much trouble w/wheelchair or scooter!

Latest was for a new DROID X on letstalk.com

New activation -> was $149.99 on their website - applied a $25 coupon 25RAFPCVER1 to drop the price to $124.99

Letstalk.com is giving $30 credit on first bill till aug 8 2010

Purchased it through bigcrumbs.com - got my $60 cashback (available after 90 days)

    had to pay activation $35

    Final price = 149.99 - 25 - 60 - 30
    + $35 activation = 69.99 for a new DROID X with FreeShipping

Once my plan was activated - got a friend of mine to get me the corporate discount for GE - setup for a 20% discount on my monthly bill.

Well today I got a little over $60 of free stuff at Kmart thanks to winning an instant win game. I won a $50 gift card and used some coupons. I got a case of Luv's diapers, a box of 360 pampers wipes, a 6 pack of paper towels, 300 pack of paper plates, Dawn Hand Renewal Dish Soap, a 100 pack of Hefty drawstring trash bags, 2 14 pack boxes of crystal light, a small bag of cat food, and a 20 oz. soda (I think that's it). I ended up walking out paying $2.44. Given I used a gift card, it wasn't that great. But since I only paid $2.44 in cash, it was great to me!!!

Oh yeah and not too long ago at Target I went in and got 2 Olay Regenerist daily cleansing clothes ($5.99 each - $5.00 coupon each, and you got a $5 gift card with purchase) Then I got a 4 GB Transcend flash drive on clearance for $4.90. I split up the orders and ended up walking out with the $22 (regular price) work of stuff for about $2.

The $5 coupons came from a coupon book P&G sent from a rebate. If you bought so much in their products yo got a coupon book with over $100 worth of coupons.

Target is awesome for coupons. I love stacking their coupons but the cashiers here can be really rude about it. Anytime my total is less than a dollar after coupons they call a manager over to make sure my coupons are real. It drives me nuts. I've just gotten used to buying a few extra things because my Target is good for clearance too.

I'm just on a shopping spree this week. Went to Rite Aid today:

    2 Nature's Made Vitamin D bottles, 120-count - $15.29 each
2 Colgate Actiflex manual toothbrushes - $4.79 each
2 Garnier Nutritioniste Exfoliating Cleanser - $6.29 each

Mr Green I gotta good 1 for you. Just bought a pair of Charter Club Jean Capris, Panama Wash at Macy's who's having an incredible deal giving $10 off most reg. AND clearance denim jeans, capris, legging. They were originally $49.00, sale for $14.99. $10 off discount was applied at checkout making them $4.99 but then I had a 20% off Star Rewards discount card which they subtracted the off $14.99 price taking off another $2.99 bringing total price to $1.99. I went through my free shipping club 1st so the $5.95 shipping will be reimbursed then went through Shopathome.com for a 5% rebate payable w/in 60 days. Subtracting all that the total price I'll pay is $2.11 w/tax for $49.00 jean capris!!

That's what I said! I went back (online) & repeated the scenario exactly to get another pair in white. Same deal is still going on but I'm out of 20% off coupons!
