I'll just have to pass down all my memories of eating Twinkies in my brown bag lunch "back in the day".

This looks like another case of corporate greed. They won't be happy until Americans are working for 15 cents per hour, 120 hours per week.

Actually, it is the bakers union that would not negotiate or give in, so they kind of put themselves out of a job! I will miss wonder bread!

Outrageous, but hey you never know! Although our local stores had a few boxes on the shelf for the usual price of $3.89, no one exactly rushing in to buy them all up.

I'm not too worried. If anybody wants some, there are some knock-offs out there right now, like Little Debbie's that clover previously mentioned.

Besides, if and when the original Twinkie dies, there are going to be sooo many companies looking to cash in on this that we'll be inundated with Twinkie knock-offs everywhere! Smile

Flower Foods, owners of Tastycake have reportedly applied for a line of credit. This is a sign they might be bidding for hostess cakes.

People in Austin must not be that big into Twinkies... they're still in the grocery stores and we ate a box with friends on Thanksgiving before dinner (that's right... a box). Smile
