Released on T-mobile today - Samsung also has 3 more phones releasing based on their GALAXY 2 series. Captivate on ATT, Fascinate on VZW and Epic 4G ( as in for a 4G network and not just 4th generation).
I did manage to go to the TMOBILE store during lunch time to check it out. They had just put it up for display. The screen is Big ( not as big as the DROID X though) but the colors look super great --- much better than any other android phones out there. When put side by side to an IPHONE - it looks the same - although the colors look a little deeper on the Samsung - on the Iphone they look a little sharper.
Also has a great fluidity to it when navigating through screens unlike the other Android devices ( they all seem to have this choppy lag). Also
pinch and zoom works great on the browser.
The device is fast - some of the samsung widgets work pretty nice.Comes pre-loaded with the AVATAR movie and it looks great on the screen.
Was a little disappointed by the outside casing though - the back cover has a plasticky feel to it and the outside rim reminded me of the IPHONE 3G. Wish SAMSUNG had used better material. It comes with 2 casings in case you wanted to interchange.
Now I wish T-MOBILE now would do something about their 3G coverage - heard that they are expanding to their HSPA+ network. Wonder if these phones can take advantage of these networks.
