Regarding Cheating in General and Chinnam Specifically

submitted on June 30, 2009 by Solstice in "Buxr Website / Contests"
Others have finally chosen to speak, and so I know I will join them.

I will only make this one statement on this issue, but I will try to be as clear as possible.

To begin with, I will no longer be voting for those who elect to cheat and attempt to rig the contest. Although, I will acknowledge that many newbies to the site tend to attempt his at least once, being tempted by the human fallacy of greed. To them I will show some voting leniency, but only for their first offense, and if it is close to their date of initiation to Buxr before having an opportunity to fully understand how Buxr works. (This means that if I am voting for you, that I do not presently believe you to be cheating.)

This policy stems from a persistent pattern of cheating by certain users. This behavior has come to greatly damage the integrity and community of Buxr. To attempt to cheat during the contests, is not only an insult to the community, but also to the site and its creators. It can no longer be tolerated.

Those who have cheating consistently for the past few months, as well as those who have more recently joined them, should now be ostracized from the site to maintain its integrity, and also to benefit the community contained therein. Therefore, I encourage others to join me in this action.

To be more specific, Chinnam, as far as I am concerned your time here is over, and you can take your troop of cheating friends with you. You will never receive another vote from me, nor will any of your friends, unless you elect to meet the following criteria.

1. You admit your wrongdoing.

2. You present a written humbling and sincere sounding apology to the entire community in the discussion forum. (Consider getting someone to help you, as your syntax and grammar is problematic.)

3. You fully disclose the user names of all your cheating friends that you are clearly in contact with through other means, and/or acknowledge which ones are in fact you simply using alternate computers. Any attempt to implicate the innocent will negate this generous offer in entirety.
(I already know who all of them, if not most of them are, so this is for the community's benefit.)

4. You vow to never cheat again in the future under penalty of ostracism, with no chance for forgiveness, pardon, reprieve, or opportunity to be reintegrated back into this community in the fullest sense.

This offer is also contingent on those users being disbanded and with them ceasing their current cheating activity.

I’m not alone in this, so it would be best to consider your options carefully on this matter. I cannot speak for others in terms of how they choose to vote, but these are the conditions that must be met to regain at least my vote, and it may or may not be enough to regain the votes of others, as well as to be welcomed back into the community in full.

Keep in mind that there are still more of us total than you have cheating friends, so you will be finding it more difficult to win daily contests, and by proxy the monthly ones, from here on out until the foresaid conditions are met. (Think… Last month you won 22 daily contests through cheating, but this month you won only 5 daily contests even with cheating. This should tell you something about the voting power of this community and our level of tolerance for cheating.)

The previous statement was not an invitation for a debate, and it was purely written to be informative.

Why do you always tag these posts as "health". You did it to another one which you addressed to me. Just curious Mr Green

Its for the "health" of the site, so it seemed the most applicable. (Tags are Required)
Trying to maintain an overall positive and fair atmosphere is good for the health of Buxr.

How come you and Overaged stands always on top in Monthly Contest? Who know how many of you have friends?
Honestly i don't have any friends here.whtevr i don't care even you believe this or not. Ohh you are trying to threatening me like you are the one who owns Buxr. When you own the deal its not a plm , if i owns it thn the plm starts. My deals are way better than your's . When i posted the same deal with more savings than your's it is not reaching to the top. That means your friends are there who always wontedly doing that. What evr i am doing my best.

You know even Yan called my name once instead of someone to convey something . May be the same thing happened yesterday.
What evr buddy i don't care. And i knw wht i am n wht ur.

I'm glad to see that others are keeping a sharp eye out for wrongdoers in this community. I promise to continue doing the same. It's just not fair to those of us who are genuinely wanting to share their good finds and get rewarded for it.

I guess no one cheats, right? What this thread about then. Let's go back to post some more deals, shall we.

    ---

As far as I see there are lot;s of instances which raise flags but it's cool. It really cannot be helped.

If you look at this deal
    http://www.buxr.com/deal/belki...../usb+cable

And I write this with no intention to lower emma's deals. Emma is a great deal poster here on BUXR and very good Q moderator. She has helped many times clearing the Q
After I posted a lower price for the deal above, 2 members
steve_05 & arzkar came and marked the deal +ve. That was a little surprising to me. Also no one raised concern then that it might be cheating. How come?

And Chinnam too marked the deal as +ve

The evidence I have seen overwhelmingly supports the fact that chinnam is a cheater and has therefore stolen from the rest of the users. This is unacceptable and inexcusable. Therefore I will continue not to vote for chinnam until the above criteria are met. I would go further and require the return of the $600 or so you have stolen.

Secondly, a method to root out cheating is needed so people don't have to waste time checking everybody's votes. Maybe we should thank chinnam for so obviously and stupidly cheating and stealing so that this problem can be fixed.

Lastly, perhaps members should have the ability to vote others off or restrict their use in some way. This might serve to put an end to this as well.

That last statement "perhaps members should have the ability to vote others off or restrict their use in some way". If this falls into the wrong hands.. there is be chaos, devastation, anarchy ..etc etc. ....In short ..we might get f****d.

But ...I think having Jackbauer on our side gives me much relief.

Apparently I have to amend my statement as I've noticed something.

Occasionally a user who claimed they would not vote for Chinnam and his group of friends, because of their consistent cheating, still does.

When this occurs, as far as I'm concerned it releases all the other people who stated they would not vote for him from any liability our verbal recourse if they chose to vote for him on that post.

This stance should not be allowed to be used or manipulated for anyone of those people to gain a point advantage, as that was not the purpose or intent for it.
