Refer a friend contest is coming back in March!

As you may or may not have noticed, we froze the refer a friend contest a few months ago to revamp it. Well you'll be happy to know it's coming back and we've made it easier than ever to participate.

To participate in the contest just refer friends to the site through a provided link, and when they register, you get credit. You can also refer friends by sharing deals, which is an easy non-spammy way of getting the word out.

It's as easy as that. There is a minimum of 5 referrals to be eligibile for a prize. Friends in the same household will not be eligible. More rules to come in our monthly blog posts on Sunday.

Is the reward based solely upon registration or is there extra bonus for participation of these newbies?

We wanted to set the barrier low, and just ask for registration.

And for prizes, cash is always nice, but as an alternative, how about gift cards to popular partner/affiliate stores?

That's a good idea. We currently have Amazon gift cards as a payment option for daily and monthly prizes.

How about a No Spam Guarantee. People may be reluctant to join deal sites because of the tremendous amount of spam. This might encourage people to join. I suggest a logo that proudly declares your No Spam Guarantee! and then explains that buxr will only contact you if you've won a prize, regarding a deal you've posted, or with contest results. Period.

This has been our policy all way long. The only email we send is our monthly newsletter which you can unsubscribe from (once and forever) with one mouse click. I guess we just need to come up with a nice looking logo.

We also do a pretty good job of weeding out bad offers (spam) on the site. Thanks to good moderatorion (Shawn) and a watchful community.

The easiest and most effective way to invite a friend is by sharing a deal. When you click on 'Share a Deal' link on the deal page, you will see a message box with the text of email. In the box, add whatever personalized message you want to add but keep the URL to the deal. If your friend goes to Buxr using that URL and signs up for an account, they will be counted as your referral.

So many comments and so little action. It is almost the middle of the month but there are barely any friends referred if you look at the contest page. Where have we failed?
