(OT) Help me pick a Wireless n based router...

submitted on December 23, 2009 by WhattaDealBlog in "Member's Lounge"
Long story short... I had a Linksys wrt54g router that started to lose internet connections. It wasn't that old but it had taken a fall and "popped" open so it may of been damaged. So Black Friday I purchased a Linksys WRT120N router to replace it and a N adapter for a desktop.

The new router connected great but about a week later my iPods got kicked off and unable to rejoin network, wired systems just fine. So I contact support and it gets "fixed".

Then on the 14th it happens again, to make this short 5 trips to support and 4 "fixes" later they are offering to do a RMA which I need to give them CC info to have them mail me one before I mail them this one back.

So I'm thinking of just contacting Amazon and getting a full refund and purchasing a new router. I've liked Linksys and owned them for all my past wireless network needs. So I do still kind of want to keep with them.

Bit of information I work from home am online 8-12 hours a day and use a Mac and PC in my office (wired). There is additionally a wireless N PC upstairs, 2 iPod Touchs, a G based laptop, a wired Blu Ray, a Wii, and a XBox 360 (wired) that need to be connected with a routing laptop or 2 from visitors. So now to my question what would you recommend? Keep in mind any sales or promotions as I did purchase this current item for like $30-$40 so not looking to spend much over what I've already invested.

Thanks for reading and any suggestions! Mr Green
