Office Depot and Office Max Have Merged

submitted on November 5, 2013 by HouTex in "Stores / Merchants"

Visit to get all the information. For now they will continue to operate websites and stores under both names, although the legal name is now Office Depot.
The merger of Office Depot and OfficeMax has created what is expected to be the #3 online retailer in North America (according to estimates by Internet Retailer). We invite you to shop at either of our consumer websites.

Both Office Depot and OfficeMax credit cards are expected to be accepted under either banner starting mid-December 2013.

We are now your single source for all the things you need to make your workplace more productive, including the latest technology, core office supplies, print and document services, business services, facilities products, furniture, and school essentials. We will continue to serve consumers and businesses in 59 countries with more than 2,200 retail stores, award winning e-commerce sites, and a dedicated business-to-business sales organization — all delivered through a global network of wholly-owned operations, joint ventures, franchisees, licensees and alliance partners.

Staples had attempted to buy Office Depot back in 1997, but the Federal Trade Commission prevented the sale due to concerns that the combined company would have too much of a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
