New Owner Plans to Close Fashion Bug Stores

Ascena Retail Group Inc. recently completed its buyout of Charming Shoppes Inc., the parent company of the Fashion Bug, a clothing chain geared toward cost-conscious young women.
The sale gave Ascena access to the large-size women’s clothing market with Lane Bryant and Catherines Plus Sizes stores. Ascena already owns Dressbarn and Maurices for women of all ages and the Justice chain, which caters to girls ages 7 to 14.

Charming Shoppes closed 124 Fashion Bug stores last year, and its website says there are now 600 Fashion Bug stores in 43 states that will close by early 2013.

We have one at Waterford Lakes and I never go in. We had one back in the early 90's and went in all the time (another location)My guess is too much competition.
