New Ipod Touch and Nano

submitted on September 9, 2009 by llocomotive in "Products / Gadgets"
The Nano comes with a camera ( functioning similar to a Flip)

So if I get it correctly the older ipod Touch is for $179 (8gb) and the new one is $199 (8gb but with OS 3.0)

Is OS 3.0 the only difference between the old and the new ipod TOUCH ?

That's about it. There is supposed to be a slightly faster processor. Rumor is that the Touch upgrade was "restrained" in favor of Apple's development of a new iTablet. They may feel the Touch is reaching the end of life and will continue to develop the iPhone and a new iTablet instead.

iPhone OS 3.1 is available and is a free download for iPhone customers and iPod touch users already running iPhone OS 3.0. iPod touch users running earlier firmware versions can upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1 for $4.95.

The iPod touch gets a hardware upgrade for the high-capacity models and a price cut on the lowest-capacity model. The 8 GB iPod touch will be $199 (down from $249), while the 32 GB and 64 GB models will be $299 and $399.

The 'old' iPod touchs aren't sold through Apple anymore. You can still buy refurbs though. (a refurb though Apple is like brand new)
