submitted on March 26, 2010 by reallyrob in "Member's Lounge"
I got an email from Netflix saying I should have my disc today for being able to watch Netflix on the Wii.

Mail just came and it's here! WOOHOO!!! You know, I will probably never use it, since I have the Roku Box and also I have 3 Blu Ray players that play Netflix also....but at least I now have a back up should something happen.

Sounds like you've got quite the arsenal of backup devices. I stopped using Netflix some time ago due to their limited selection. Has their selection of movies and shows gotten much better?

Do you still rent DVDs? If so, where?

I think the selection is pretty good. Plus on the Roku box, you can watch stuff from Amazon and You Tube also....and also MLB.

Well I used mine for the first time today and for only displaying in SD it's not bad. I will probably stick to the PS3 or Xbox 360 though since at least I can watch HD stuff on them.

Do you need to request your DVD to get it? I have both Netflix and Nintendo Wii but I never received anything...

Yes, I had to request it. If you go to watch instantly and look where it shows the different devices, I believe you can request it there.

Techcrunch writes you can now stream videos w/o a disk. Just download a free app from Wii Shop Channel. I didn't try it yet but planning to next time I have to watch a movie in the living room (where we have the Wii in our house).
