Mom Pleads Guilty To Shaking Baby To Death Over Farmville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 22-year-old woman charged with shaking her baby to death has pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree murder and faces 25 to 50 years in prison.

Alexandra Tobias was arrested on charges of aggravated child abuse and murder after her 3-month-old son, Dylan Lee Edmondson, died in January. Prosecutors said Tobias admitted to becoming angry because the baby would not stop crying while she was playing Farmville on Facebook, Local 6 news partner WJXT reported.

You've heard the stories. children and parents alike are getting killed over online games.

A while back ago a kid killed his dad cause he wouldn't let him play World of Warcraft.

Do you think it's the games/addiction itself that's causing such deadly behavior or something else underlying and the game is just a trigger?

I think it's the addiction. I myself used to be a World of Warcraft player and I know I got addicted, not as bad as some but I know I was. It was just as hard for me to quit playing as it was for me to quit smoking the first time I did. I used to get angry at people for interrupting me but I'm the type of person who wouldn't hurt a fly. I throw things when angry Twisted

I'm getting pretty sick of hearing these things though. I wish people wouldn't let themselves get so involved in such stupid things. Now I am really careful about playing new online games and realize there is a lot more to life then the stupid game world. It's weird though because I've never been addicted to a console game. I think the only game I came close with was a copy of Final Fantasy III I had on Super Nintendo but that was because I had a glitched copy that couldn't be beat. Confused

I'd like to shake that mother to death! Nothing comes before my kids, which is why I've been absent of late. Noah's had some problems w/bullys at school so I've been volunteering in his class and today as lunch monitor and on field trip to bowling alley. He's far MORE important than ANYTHING else in my life! Everything else in the world besides my family is stupid to me!
