Trade stuff for free at Listia.com

submitted on September 9, 2010 by bnwsmile in "Stores / Merchants"
Not a competitors site don't worry.

I've been buying and selling stuff here for a while and it costs me nothing. That's right. I've had no out of pocket expenses. It's basically a huge trade site. Credits is the currency and it's pretty easy to rack them up.

You get 150 free credits when you sign up.

Looks kind of interesting, however you are not really "selling" more as you are trading.

I could see that site for use with items which have low value, but I wouldn't really be tempted to post something of value, as you couldn't get your "value" back unless something else you would want is listed.

How do you get paid? Is it all just points?

I have seen sites like this in the past (e.g. BarterBee) and my concern is that with all these free points new sign ups receive the company creates "inflation" within the marketplace. Read this for a better explanation of how this business model is flawed:

I got tons of products just paying a few bucks for shipping I only had problems with a couple of people that never sent me my products after they got my points but I got my points back just reporting the case to the moderator, and also if you need more points to bid you can buy them there.

Might be worth a try but do I really have the time for this? Doesn't it cost a lot to ship out stuff?

I only sell the codes in the coke caps and sometimes coupons and I get a lot of points.
There are brand new and used stuff, I'm very happy with the items I won. People are very ingenious and you can see postings that you wouldn't find on ebay or other sites.
For example the other day one person was offering to retouch 4 pictures of the winner of his auction and email them back.
