I thought it would be useful to compile a list of stores that filed or are rumored to file for bankruptcy. Everyone then could use it as a reference when making a decision on using the deals we list on Buxr

My local store closed in Dec. I got a LG-BD 300 Blu-ray player for $175. They retail for $350.

I now how a bunch of Blu-ray movies that I can't play. I need a Blu-ray player badly. Is the LG any good?

I think it is great. Also, it has the capability to stream Netflix online providing you have an ethernet connection near the player.

CNET gives it a very good rating. Plus for a $175, I am not going to complain. I will be hitting the circuit city liquidation to pick up 50% blu-ray dvds.

The retailer announced the closure of 28 stores during 2008 and on Thursday said it had decided to close 24 additional stores in January.

This is the latest I could find in the news:

Yankee Holding Corp. today said it will cut 330 jobs as part of a restructuring plan that includes closing its 28 Illuminations stores.

Yankee is also discontinuing its Illuminations consumer direct business and closing one underperforming store at its Yankee Candle Co.

Hi Admin,
Are you still keeping this list up-to-date? How about Lane Bryant?maybe once a week he can resubmit it, that way we can all keep our eyes open for possibles. hmmmm just thinking

I couldn't find anything on Lane Bryant going bankrupt. Just some store closures last year. Can you post more details?
