Around 4.8 million box fans are being recalled by Lasko, because they pose a fire hazard, (7) reports of fires associated with motor failures, including two house fires causing extensive property damage. No injuries were reported.
The fans were sold between July 2002 and December 2005 at major stores throughout the United States.
Lasko box fans with the model numbers 3720, 3723 and 3733
Galaxy box fans with model number 4733 that have the date “2002-2003″ or “2003-2004″
Model numbers can be found stamped or printed on the bottom of the fans.
