kohls 30 percent off code question

submitted on January 10, 2014 by mdshopper1 in "Stores / Merchants"
just curious, why are kohls 30% off codes not allowed to be posted here? i have seen everything from 15-25% off, but no 30% off.
are there other stores where codes are not allowed to be posted on the deals section?

I believe a rep from Kohl's contacted Buxr on at least 2 occasions and asked that 30% off codes be removed. They want to send them out to specific customers and they don't want them to be shared online. Since I have been here, it has been my observation that Buxr honors those requests, while other sites may not. It is the store's right to make such requests and I believe the store could take legal action against those sites if they choose to do so.

That makes sense. You would think if Kohl's was that worried, they would not let you hand your coupon to a friend standing in line with you. I do that often, sometimes even to a stranger. FYI, if you use the coupon once and can no longer find it, just bring in your receipt and they honor the 30% off for additional purchases even without the original coupon.

I have always found the cashiers to be generous with coupons at Kohl's. A lot of them try more than those in many other stores to stack coupons for me. But I don't know if the behavior of those individuals is dictated by management or is just on their own initiative to be nice to customers. Many of the Macy's employees do the same, even scanning a coupon for shoppers who don't have one themselves. I'm not sure the store wants them to do that, I think if they wanted to offer the discount to every customer they would just have a sale. The coupons are usually sent to "valuable customers" as an incentive or a reward.

i never have a problem using a 30% off online, even if i didnt personally receive it. sometimes in store the cashiers will honor the 30% off if i have the coupon code, but not the actual 30% coupon (i do get them several times a year, but sometimes i receive the 20% off). my kohls is also GREAT about taking expired kohls cash so i never feel pressured to use it prior to the expiration date. LOVE THAT! i can save them up and do a big order AND get 30% off! it is one of my favorite places to shop, especially for basics. thanks for the information on why this site doesnt allow the 30% off codes here.

HouTex has accurately described the situation as it is right now. It saddens me to see Kohl's taking this position in the modern world of Twitter and Facebook. I hope things change soon.

Since I posted two of the 30% code deals that Kohl's asked to be removed, I understand their side on this. It is a reward for their best shoppers just like the companies that put individual #'s on coupons for specific customers. It is a way of making them feel like they are being rewarded.
