iPhone 4 - How to get it for a cheaper price?

submitted on June 10, 2010 by funguyin in "Products / Gadgets"
Hi,

I was so excited to buy an iPhone 4 after watching Steve Jobs giving the demos of the new gadget.

Obviously, as a deal freak, I was looking out ways to own and iPhone for as cheap as I can.

Apparently, I found that if we place on order from bankofamerica.com website (they have a shopping mall), we get $24 cash back.

Apart from that, if we add an additional line (I mean 2 iphones), the calling plan would be $59.99 (for shared 450 minutes) and the lowest data plan available is $15 per month per line.

So that total monthly cost is around $90 for two iPhones with data plan.

Now they do charge $36 for the first line and $26 for the additional line as an activation charge.

Any of you have any ideas/workarounds to get the starting price cheaper? Or to get the activation fee waived off?

Or, is there any other better way of grabing an iPhone for less cost?

Any ideas/comments/suggesstions are welcome.

some companies offer discounts on billing. When I got my iphone last year - I called up ATT and mentioned my company and am receiving a 10% discount monthly on my bill.

Good tip. Check with our employer or school. I got equipment discount on my phone and service discount on my wife's cell phone via my former employer.

Thanks for the heads up, but, I am holding out for Verizon. AT&T's service sucks.
