I need help with posting a deal

submitted on September 21, 2009 by freejbhind in "Member's Lounge"
When trying to "copy & paste" the URL, (direct link to the deal) I get the message "unable to read from URL". I tried to just type it in myself as well, but it still won't accept it. Any ideas?

Sometimes the link won't work when it's from a shopping cart view or a pop-up window. Try to go back one page or click on the item itself to reach a page with description and/or image of the item. If that fails too, try the home page of the site offering the deal and list the steps to reach your item.

Links starting with "https" will not work. Try changing to "http". If that URL still opens the same page then submit the link starting with "http" instead of "https"

Thanks, I tried both of your suggestions and I still cannot get it to work. The URL is https://secure.carfax.com/showme.cfx for a free Carfax report (normally $30). YanBz, would you see if it works for you? Thanks!

This is a secure URL (using 'https') which will not work without the 's' part. Unfortunately I don't have a solution for this at the moment. Just post it in the forum. I will add this in my 'todo' list.

sometimes if you take off the s at the end and just put http it will still take you to where you want to go and you overcome the https obstacle.

Give it a try and see if that works for you.
