How to slide on airline luggage fees

submitted on July 30, 2009 by llocomotive in "Member's Lounge"
# Story Highlights
# The days of gate-checking carry-on luggage may be numbered
# Some hotels are offering credits to cover luggage fees
# Check to see if your frequent flier status exempts you from bag fees
# Tips: Bring less; fly no-fee; find loopholes; exploit policy differences; mail it ( I personally think, this costs too much and is not available at all airports -- llocomotive )

Some airlines charge a discounted luggage fee if you do an early luggage check in online. This is what we did when we traveled to Orlando this summer. The difference was a few dollars

    Delta increased its luggage fees

$25 for first bag , $35 for second.

Another reason to avoid Delta Airlines
