How important is it to include exclusions to posted deals?

submitted on August 16, 2010 by sandyshore in "Buxr Website / Contests"
What is the protocol for posting or making the public user aware of exclusions on deals? Are there any guidelines that moderators use in determining if they are included with a deal? I'm always trying to post what I feel is relevant information, I still see many deals with no indication that there are any important exclusions. As a contributing member I feel funny pointing out exclusions to another member in comments. All that to ask -- what is the standard?

Let me answer with a question... What would you say if deal submissions had a quality score and the prize amount depended on it?

Me personally I wouldn't mind - I think it would be a good idea to a certain extent. I still think that takes it back to the place where contributing members are going to be stepping on toes of fellow voters. I also think that new members need some time to get the feel for what is important and what would be a quality submission. I do feel it is unfair to post a deal with no mention of exclusions that are relevant to the deals worth.

I think it is critical to provide the exclusions with the deal. Not all visitors to Buxr who will look at these deals know what are "the usual exclusions." I think the presence or absence of this information affects the value of the deal, and I try to find these details if I can. If I have failed to state the exclusions either in the description or in the comments of my deals (if I didn't know, didn't see, or forgot to add them), I appreciate another member adding exclusions or other pertinent details if I have omitted them. I would not be offended; I accept their efforts to make the deal description more accurate.

I too, don't mind someone adding exclusions except for the fact it makes me feel bad that I didn't add them myself as I should have. They really should all include exclusions if you happen to know what they are.
