Household Items You May Pay Too Much For

submitted on July 21, 2011 by pablos17 in "Member's Lounge"
Are you really attached to your fancy, name brand, expensive shampoo? If so, you may want to really take a look at what you're spending on such products. Also some home made alternatives to everyday household cleansers could save you some money as well.

Here are some items you may be spending too much money for:

Over-the-Counter Medications
Detergents
Replacement Products
Toothbrushes
Digital Appliances

I'm attached to saving money & comparing ingredients & manufacturing of items we buy all the time.

Over-counter meds may be the same in generic, but my uncle is a doctor and he says he rarely prescribes generic because they don't always work as well. They may technically be the same ingredients, but the brand name is often of higher quality.

It's interesting that most of the items are cleaners.

This one kinda got me: "In the case of shampoo—we only need a gentle cleanser at most—there's even a growing "no-poo" movement that advocates forgoing shampoo altogether."

Instead of "no-poo" I think it would end up being "stinky-poo".
