Since one month i am doing research for HDTV. I am planning to BUY one, till now i have decided to buy samsung 52". Model not yet decided but mostly it will be with features 1080P,multiply HDMI, and .....
Sony i found costly as compare to Samsung.
Please share your exp with HDTV so that i can decide on brand and features. And after that wait for July Deals Smile

I can spend 1500-1700 looking for the best quality.

For that price I would rather have two 42 inch tv's.

The Samsung touch of color is a good choice. I'm very satisfied with my 46" The Samsung remote is awesome. Easy to use, loaded with features, including a backlight feature which is very handy in a dark room. It's a bit hard to see during daylight though, unless I close the drapes. If you're not going to purchase and use a blu-ray player, don't bother buying a 1080p. No digital broadcasters or cable channels offer 1080p. They all broadcast in 720p because 1080p takes up too much bandwidth.

This is a typical complain with Plasma displays. Do you have LCD or Plasma?

If I were to buy a 52" HDTV I would make sure it is 1080p. What is the point to have it w/o a Blu-Ray player?

Touch of Color is LCD only ( I think)

About the touch of color ...it has some issue with the Bezel ( the frame which has the red color infused in it) ..my friend bought one from Amazon ....returned it since the inside of the bezel started showing cracks ...seems it's a known issue. Returned it ...got another one ...a series 8 .. 46" ...samsung touch of color......from fry's ...same issue....called up samsung ...they are sending a new bezel and will install it for him.

    Thanks for the inputs guys.
I bought Sony BRAVIA KDL-52V5100 52" LCD TV.One of my friend has this and i was really carried away with sony.So finally i went to HHGREG store and bought. The best deal i got is the price match. They told me that if any store bestbuy or walmart any store is selling the same model with a lower price they will give me a diff plus 10% more. And this is valid for 30 days and the store has to be within 30 miles of the HHGREG store.

With this i bought Blue ray sony palyer 360.
Whole weekend was buzzy with my TV SET up Big Grin Big Grin .
