The first day know as National Secretaries Day was on Wednesday, June 4, 1952 by the National Secretaries Association to acknowledge secretaries office skills for the corporate field. Today, National Secretary Day now known as Administrative Professionals Day is celebrated the last full week of April, since 1955. The acknowledgement of secretaries and administrative personnel continues all week with special emphasis on Wednesday, the day known to all admin professionals and with great hope your boss will treat you to lunch or send a huge bouquet of flowers.
Back in the day secretaries gathered throughout the week for typing competition beginning in their own city headed for the state competition and further onto national competition. Well now even some cities had a different type of competition with the annual typewriter throwing contest. Imagine that, seeing which secretary can throw a typewriter the farthest to win first place with a cash prize!
Try throwing one of these in a competition!
Administrative, secretaries and office admins help keep the corporate world organized to make the work flow smooth.
