Well I didn't use any of your templates but you gave me an excuse to show off hubby and my pumpkins lol. I did the Mario on the left. It was my first time carving anything but a jack o latern so it got messed up a little. And my hubby did Freddy Krueger. The photo didn't do it justice. He did an awesome job. Enjoy!

Your pumpkins came out so good! I don't think I could do nearly as well.

Mommy25, great idea to start a thread for pumpkin carving templates, there are quite a few sites out there and we can post them here together.

Mooncow728, your Freddy Krueger reminds me of the patterns at http://www.carvingpumpkins.com/ , a site that specializes in three toned pumpkin carving patterns, which require an additional step of peeling the outside and some of the flesh from the pumpkin. This adds greater depth and eye popping realism to your carvings. Instructions on this technique are available under the "Instructions" button on the left of the screen. More help and tips can be found on the message boards.

i bought these patterns last year from zombiepumpkins.com They seem kind of expensive but I went with the $5 package and got 25 patterns. I just printed a bunch of each off and put them up. Typically we only carve 2-3 a year so it will be quite some time before we have to use the same ones again. The Freddy pumpkin is actually all just cuts. After taking pictures we both went back over our pumpkins and made some of the thinner cuts show better.

I'd love to see some more pumpkins that you guys have done. Upload some pics please!

Also if you have little ones in your house Nick JR has a bunch of printable templates here: http://www.nickjr.com/printabl.....ndex.jhtml
