Got a Question About Rules? Ask Away!!!

submitted on April 7, 2012 by HouTex in "Buxr Website / Contests"
I thought I'd start a new topic about rules questions. Please feel free to post questions in the comments here, so members can join in to discuss them.

By far the most common area has to do with duplicate submissions. Another confusing topic is when to include the name of the store and a price in the title, and many new members have trouble sorting this out at first.

Of course, I don't really have all the answers myself, I spend a lot of time looking them up in the Wiki.

You can always get to the wiki via the menu at the top, here is direct link:

In fact, I often look up the same points several times. Roll Eyes So it's really nice to have this handy guide for reference, and the best thing about it is that power users can help keep it updated. Big Grin

You can find the entire group of rules about duplicates here -

and what information to include in the title here -

For those of you who have struggled with images (haven't we all?), check out this section, too -

The wiki also has some other topics of interest, like these:
• A list of restaurants that offer free kids meals
• Birthday freebies
• Retail bankruptcies
• Fake freebie sites
• A collection of various money making websites
- and more!
1. Have you ever used the Buxr wiki?
 Yes, it's very helpful.
Yes, but I didn't find the answer I needed.
No, I didn't even know we had a wiki.

Well this question may not actually relate to this topic, but what happens to the votes from members when a deal has several votes and it gets rejected? Since daily voting is limited to 50, do those members get back that vote?

No, they don't. Those votes still count against the limit.

    Hello Everyone,

What's the deal with some people putting:

    "Exclusions may apply"

in the description box and nothing else?

Aren't we required to list the exclusions or at the very least put a link to them?

Not only is it a pain in the *ss to try to find items that qualify for certain offers, but it is unfair to other people who MUST put a complete description or get their deal rejected.

It also makes their deals "look better" by not having a long list of specific exclusions.

I've tried looking through the Wiki for the answer to my question, but could not find it.

Do some people not have any rules or do you get to bypass certain rules once you reach a certain level?

    I'm confused.

We don't have a rule mandating that you have to put all exclusions in the description, just because sometimes it is impossible or very difficult to do so, but you absolutely must do you best to find them and it is at Admins' discretion to reject or remove from the contest any deal that they think has inadequate or poor description (yes, we have done it in the past!). Hope this answers your question.

    Okie Dokie, thanks Yanz!
I thought it was a requirement.

I've been omitting deals and not placing them up here for fear of rejection because I couldn't find a complete description of exclusions, etc. to put in the description box.

I guess I can put them up now without fear. Smile
