Google Voice calls to Canada are now Free

Google recently dropped the price for calls to Canada from $.01 to $0. I have been a Grand Central / Google Voice user for months and I love it. Now I just wish I could port my cell number to it so I can use it via the Android app on my G1

    You can sign up for Google Voice for free.
    Another benefit is that you get a phone number you can give out that is not your true cell or landline number, but calls to the GV number can be forwarded to them. If you are unavailable, messages can be left at the GV number and emailed to you. Very cool!

    btw.. ATT/Apple rejected the GV app for the Iphone.

    This is the first time hearing about google voice so I went to check it out, but it says google voice is currently available by invite only.

    This is what it says after you sign up for an invite:

    Please leave your name and email below, and we'll send you an invitation to join Google Voice in the near future. We are aggressively moving through the invitation requests and anticipate that it will be a short wait before you receive your invitation.

    Anyone know how long it will be?

      It took me about 2 weeks. I also got 25 free business cards!
