Google Drive - 5GB of online storage for free!

submitted on April 24, 2012 by YanBz in "Products / Gadgets"
You get 5GB for free. $2.49/month will buy you 25GB, $4.99/month will buy 100GB and $49.99/month will buy 1TB.

For comparison, Dropbox that many (including myself) use offers just 2GB of storage for free and 100GB of storage for $19.99/month

More details:
1. Do you use Dropbox or any other online storage?
2. Do you think you will switch to Google Drive?

I won't switch entirely to Google Drive, but I may add it to an already extensive use for Google Docs since collaboration is becoming more mainstream this way. Since I already have 5GB from Dropbox for free, I can certainly use another free 5GB storage in the cloud. Mr Green

I'll just use the free 5gb for now. I feel like they will eventually matter up the free amount of storage space.

Don't have a fax machine? HelloFax is a Google Drive launch partner. You can get 50 free fax pages per month for 6 months and unlimited e-signatures. Requires Google Chrome browser. Start here --> and download the free HelloFax app from the Chrome Web Store.

You can do a chrome installation without administrator privileges. The new Mozilla Firefox also has many common features with Chrome - my favorite being the ability to sync tabs and bookmarks and forms across computers (I presently use atleast 4 in any given week, sometimes 7)

That's true, most places (and particularly schools) do not allow unauthorized software to be added by individual employees, and when they find it they will remove it.

We can't even have favorites unless we add it to the server. Everything goes "poof" nightly!
