God Bless Texas!

submitted on April 19, 2010 by pablos17 in "Member's Lounge"
Only in the Lone Star State can one find such a convenient store... I really miss living in Texas; and I'm really getting tired of paying income tax to the State of Indiana every year. Sad

HouTex, -not to far from your city -it looks like this is just south of I-10 in Schulenburg. I just had to Google Map it to see if it was a real store.

Found this on Digg.com today...

Eeek And I thought they only had drive-thru liquor stores in Louisiana. This oughta be illegal.
I thought all they had in Schulenburg was smokehouses and sausage.
Apparently Double Shot belongs to a woman, and they're building a web site featuring their firearms - see their web site "about" info
    http://doubleshotliquorandguns.com/13652.html

    Under their "News" tab -
Double Shot Liquor & Guns: Recognized in LA Times Paper visit latimes.com under "Strange But True" tab.

    Yep, "strange" is right.

It wasn't so easy to find the LA Times link from 12/1/08, so here it is http://yourscene.latimes.com/m.....ectionID=0 .

One of the comments reported seeing a store in Las Vegas that carried liquors, guns, and fireworks! Couldn't find any proof that it's still there, but yikes, what a bad combination!

Seriously, though, in Texas you actually wouldn't be able to open the liquor bottle and drink in the car, there are open container laws that prohibit that. And you probably couldn't buy a firearm through the drive in, either, because you'd have to fill out a form for the BATF.

Looks like the Las Vegas store is the winner. A menage a trois of sins -now they just need to go four-ways and add in an adult entertainment section. Who knows, the store may already have such a section -It is Sin City after all. Twisted

Not only does Louisiana have drive-thru liquor stores, but they also have drive-thru daiquiri stores. Smile I would frequent the daiquiri shops ever so often and the way they get past the open container rule is by placing a piece of scotch tape over the straw hole in the lid of the styrofoam cup. And, of course, most of the locations sold their drinks in plain, white cups. Making me feel a little tipsy just from reminiscing - Artistic
